IPE Growth

Does anyone out there structure IPE in or with their student affairs office/team?  When someone officially joins your IPE team as a paid player are they given release time from other duties? If you are willing to share how and who/position wise, not specifially related to titles, is on your team that would be great. As we all experience some of the same issues with regard to growing pains I am just trying to get some insight in to how other teams are put together. 

Interprofessional Practice and Education in Federally Qualified Health Centers

During this webinar, Barbara F. Brandt, PhD, Director of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, will lead a discussion of the National Center’s work in relation to Federally Qualified Health Centers. Topics covered will include an update on movements that drive interest in IPE, highlights and innovations in National Center projects within FQHCs, a tour of the National Center Resource Center and impact on FQHCs, and an overview of the National Center’s research agenda.

Leveraging a Redesigned Morbidity and Mortality Conference that Incorporates the Clinical and Educational Missions of Improving Quality and Patient Safety

Problem: The morbidity and mortality (M&M) conference is a vital event that can affect medical education, quality improvement, and peer review in academic departments. Historically, M&M conferences have emphasized cases that highlight diagnostic uncertainty or complex management conundrums. In this report, the authors describe the development, pilot, and refinement of a systems-based M&M conference model that combines the educational and clinical missions of improving quality and patient safety in the University of Colorado Department of Medicine.

MIPERC is an inter-institutional infrastructure dedicated to integrating interprofessional practice with education in the Midwest region. The theme of the 2016 MIPERC Conference is "The Role of Interprofessional Teams in Healthcare Delivery."
