IPE Faculty/Preceptor Development Program- a microcredential

The purpose of IPE is to prepare health profession students for interprofessional practice by teaching collaborative practice competencies within the context of interprofessional teams. All health professions now require the integration of interprofessional education into their curricula. Faculty and Preceptors must be prepared to integrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for effective collaborative practice into the curricula of both the preclinical and clinical years of training.

It discusses the 4Ms framework of an age-friendly health system, and provides teaching tips to engage health professional students in learning how to implement the 4Ms framework.

Geriatric Assessment

This toolkit contains interprofessional resources for teaching undergraduate and graduate students how to conduct a geriatric assessment. The toolkit contains two components: a digital interactive learner module that introduces the topic to students and a compendium of teaching resources. Faculty can select the aresources that work best for their class. Many of the resources are also available in the learner module. Most of the teaching and learning activities can be adapted for use in online and face-to-face classes.

Managing urinary incontinence in older adults

This toolkit contains interprofessional resources for teaching undergraduate and graduate students how to assess, treat, and educate older adults about urinary incontinence. The toolkit contains two components: a digital interactive learner module that introduces the topic to students along with a compendium of teaching and learning activities and resources. Improving nursing home resident safety, dignity, & financial integrity: Recommendations for CMS

The Long Term Care Community Coalition issued a new policy brief with focused recommendations for addressing the longstanding gaps in nursing home quality assurance and accountability that have harmed vulnerable residents and devastated families across the United States. The brief focuses on steps that Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) can take to improve nursing home resident safety, dignity, & financial integrity.
