Promoting Nursing Leadership in Interprofessional Education in Community Settings

Today the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation shared the story of 16 nursing schools, working with the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, to develop new community-based clinical programs for their graduate and advanced practice nursing students to learn to work in interprofessional teams.

Payments to Contracted Trainers

Hi All:

Wondering if anyone has run into this one, and if so, can you provide some perspective/support?

We provide monthly interdisciplinary trainings to our BHWET students and are able to do so through contracting with local experts (FNPs/RNs, Licensed Psychologists, Clinical Dietician/Wellness Coach, Case Managers, Licensed Professional Counselors). Most often, these are practitioners fromour community, but recently 2 trainers were affiliated with our University Counseling Center (Psychologist and Case Manager).

2018 Midwest Interprofessional Practice, Education, and Research Center Conference

Registration is open and abstract are being accepted for the 11th Annual Midwest Interprofessional Practice, Education, and Research Center (MIPERC) Conference to be held on September 20 & 21, 2018. The conference takes place on Grand Valley State University’s downtown campus at the Richard M. DeVos Center in Grand Rapids, MI.

CAIPER Interprofessional By Design: What You Need to Know to Advance Team-Based Care and ROI: Integrated Care and Care Coordination

On March 28, attendees from seven teams across the country  gathered in Phoenix, AZ to attend the CAIPER Interprofessional By Design: What You Need to Know to Advance Team-Based Care and ROI: Integrated Care and Care Coordination workshop, a partnership between the National Center and ASU Center for Advancing Interprofessional Practice, Education, and Research (CAIPER).

Interprofessional Workforce Planning, Education and Practice Designed Around Patients and Populations

On March 28, 2018 Barbara Brandt and Erin Fraher presented the closing keynote at the Rhode Island Collaborative for Interprofessional Education and Practice's Spring 2018 Symposium. Their keynote included a deep dive into new "old school/new school" thinking about connecting new models of workforce planning, interprofessional education, and collaborative practice. 

Dr. Barbara Brandt is Director of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education and Associate Vice President in the University of Minnesota's Academic Health Center.
