Victoria University is accepting abstracts for its first Interprofessional Health Education and Practice (IHEP) Conference. Abstracts relevant to health education, research and/or practice should address one of the conference’s three themes: expose (introduction), immerse (exploration) or experience (practice-based). The Use of PBL in an Interprofessional Education Course for Health Care Professional Students
A problem-based learning (PBL) framework was utilized in a series of six interprofessional team seminars (IPTS) for postbaccalaureate students from seven health professions. The goal of IPTS was to develop a collaborative practice-ready workforce prepared to respond to patient care needs through use of concrete examples, skills development, critical thinking, and problem solving in safe, faculty-facilitated small groups. The collaborative nature of PBL closely correlates with teaching methodologies of the IPTS series.
Podcast Series Explores Interprofessional Training in Primary Care
Today, the National Center and Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) released the first chapter in a five-part podcast series based on the PCPCC publication “Progress and Promise: Profiles in Interprofessional Health Training to Deliver Patient-Centered Primary Care,” which explored advanced primary care practices in exemplary interprofessional education teaching programs.
