During opening remarks at the third annual Nexus Innovation Network meeting, Barbara Brandt outlined recent changes that are driving interest in interprofessional practice and education. 

The presentation includes:

  • An overview of the National Center's work
  • Trends and "game-changes" in health care
  • Characteristics of "new" models of care and the workforce needed to support them

The 2015 Nexus Innovation Network meeting was held in Minneapolis. The event was attended by 100 individuals representing 19 current and future network sites.

This presentation, delivered by Barbara Brandt, PhD, to the National Governors Association, outlines the impact of new delivery system models of health care on a state's workforce needs. 

The presentation was a collaboration with Erin Fraher, PhD, MPP, director of the Program on Health Workforce Research and Policy at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research at the University of North Caroline – Chapel Hill. Dr. Brandt serves as an advisor to the program.
