The National Center to Reframe Aging (NCRA) is the central hub for the movement to reframe aging. The Reframing Aging movement is a long-term social change endeavor designed to improve the public’s understanding of what aging means and the many ways that older people contribute to our society.

Designated as the North American Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Training Institute, the Gateway Geriatric Education Center at Saint Louis University provides training and support for Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST). CST is an evidence-based, non-pharmacologic, structured group or individual intervention for persons experiencing mild to moderate memory impairment. CST provides those experiencing cognitive impairment with opportunities to interact with others by making social connections through the use of stimulating activities and discussions.

Understanding the ethnic or cultural background of an individual who is being evaluated for dementia is essential to accurate diagnosis and treatment. These resources provide a starting point for understanding norms and values based on a person's background.

An interprofessional programme, with cohorts of students from six different health professions, was developed from an initial business case and implemented as one of two parallel rural sites. First-year results indicate significant community commitment and very positive student feedback in relation to local hospitality, feeling part of the healthcare team, learning from students of other disciplines and much greater appreciation of the rural health environment. Students report greatly increased confidence in working with Maˉori, and enjoy producing their community projects.

The evaluations described in this chapter have highlighted the need to have a better understanding of the long-term effect and outcomes of IPE programmes as a whole. From an institutional perspective these results are important for the maintenance of funding streams to support IPE programmes. From a health system perspective these may indicate where resources can be best allocated to achieve goals for the workforce.

The mission of the E4 Center is to engage, empower, and educate health care providers and community-based organizations for equity in behavioral health for older adults and their families. E4 will achieve this through the provision of education, implementation resources, and technical assistance regarding mental health, substance use, and their intersection with physical health.

Connecting Care Through Telehealth is an online course designed to inform and improve best practices when using telehealth and virtual services in long-term services and supports (LTSS) settings. Informed by the Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms framework, content is tailored for providers and care-teams, residents/patients, and families and caregivers within skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and home health and hospice organizations.
