The National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) is a national non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization with members in all fifty states, DC and the territories. Formed in 1989, the goal of NAPSA is to provide Adult Protective Services (APS) programs a forum for sharing information, solving problems, and improving the quality of services for victims of elder and vulnerable adult mistreatment.

This website provides information on education, resources, events, public policy, and updates from NAPSA's blog and social media accounts.

Abuse of elderly and vulnerable adults comes in several forms. Sometimes the signs of abuse are subtle, while other times they are hard to miss. The organisation was founded in 1983, and the global network has 199 global members in 98 countries. Our mission is to promote the rights and well-being of older people, and to help them live dignified and fulfilling lives.

This resource guide contains a range of tools, materials and information related to advanced care planning, including financial, housing, medical, legal, and palliative/hospice care assistance. It is the result of a comprehensive, environmental scan of available dementiaspecific advanced care planning resources. This guide is intended to be used primarily by people living with dementia and their care partners. It should be used as a tool to help navigate and provide recommendations for effective care, services, and considerations at various stages of cognitive impairment and dementia.

Utilizing and Promoting Social Engagement for Loneliness, Isolation, & Depression in the Elderly (UPSLIDE) is a Tallahassee Senior Center program that has won two awards for its work in helping adults age 50 and older become and stay socially engaged. UPSLIDE hosts Friends Connection chat groups which provide a welcoming community of support and social interaction in a fun, relaxed and creative environment. UPSLIDE also offers assessment visits, individual counseling, social engagement support, transportation, technology & resource assistance.

Ageing is a critical, yet overlooked development issue directly implicating 12.2% of the global population, with currently more than 901 million people aged 60 and older, an increasing majority of whom live in low and middle-income countries. Despite their demographic significance, older persons have been typically unrecognized by international development programmes, policy, and discourse, and as a result, low-and-middle-income countries have fallen behind in developing capacities to address the needs of their ageing populations.

This manual is designed to give trainers all the necessary information to design a successful learning experience to conduct a day-long training to enhance law enforcement officers’ abilities to respond to crimes of sexual assault against older people. There are two uses for this manual. Before the training, the manual should be reviewed and used to prepare for the training, including copying the camera-ready participant materials found in the manual. During the training, the manual provides a script for presenting the information and guiding the participants.

Elder abuse often goes unreported and unnoticed to the public. Types of abuse include physical, verbal/mental, financial, sexual, caregiving neglect, and self neglect. This guide addresses many types of elder abuse and how to prevent such abuses. It also helps seniors avoid becoming victims of scams and theft. Links to additional resources are also provided.
