REACH offers educational resources on aging-related healthcare and social topics for older adults, their care partners, community lay persons, public service professionals, and healthcare professionals and trainees. The materials and resources you will find on this website use the 4Ms Framework.

This website sponsored by the Florida State University College of Medicine provides support to caregivers through faith-based, skills-building and services to distressed caregivers of loved ones with dementia and Alzheimer’s. There are free online telephone-based skills-building and support programs for caregivers that covers topics such as effective communication, memory loss, reducing stress, personal goals, increasing communication, and difficult behaviors. There are also useful links to different caregiving and aging resources.

Agriculture, as a profession, has more mostly “older workers” than any other profession or industry. In addition, the agricultural industry ranks as one of the most hazardous. In 2020, UMASH hosted a series of online community forums, each with a regional focus in the Upper Midwest. The website features video presentations and includes resources to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of farmers and farm communities in the Upper Midwest.

Older clients may need a little extra care and attention to ensure a happy veterinary experience. This article discusses what you can do to help them help their pets when visiting the vet. The seven steps are: plan ahead, offer guidance, communicate clearly, write it down, look for gentle alternatives, offer a shoulder to lean on, prescribe pets not pills.

Education and Training from The National Center for Equitable Care for Elders, which develops and disseminates webinars, modules, learning collaboratives, and publications to support health center providers and staff as they care for an aging patient population. We partner with subject matter experts and health care professionals in various fields to provide up-to-date information and comprehensive overviews of relevant topics.

Age Without Limits has created the first free library showing positive and realistic images of over 50s. Photos show a more realistic and diverse depiction of ageing – to help challenge stereotypes of older people. The library, which contains over 3,000 images and is regularly updated, is available for anyone to use for free.

The E4 Center of Excellence, in partnership with CATCH-ON, the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program based at Rush, and the Rush Center for Excellence in Aging has developed an online educational program that provides basic knowledge that every mental health clinician needs to work effectively with older adults. This 16-hour self-paced certificate program can serve as a first step in developing competency in older adult mental health.

The engAGED Social Engagement Innovations Hub houses best and emerging social engagement programs. Searchable by a variety of filters—including social engagement intervention type, geographic area served or partners involved—the Innovations Hub gives you access to replicable examples to inspire and inform your organization’s social engagement efforts. Each program summary within the Innovations Hub contains all you need to know about that particular program, such as partners involved, outcomes demonstrated, lessons learned, resources needed and contact information to learn more.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has published a white paper related to goal-aligned care. The paper discusses how goal attainment scaling, a method organizations can use to document, monitor, and help people make progress on personalized goals extensively used in research, can be considered in quality measurement. NCQA convened multidisciplinary experts to review the current landscape of goal attainment scaling, discuss implementation methodologies and gain a better understanding of best practices implementing the method with diverse audiences.
