This video (24:12 minutes) from the Gateway Geriatric Education Center highlights common fall hazards found throughout a typical day for a nursing home resident. The locations addressed in this video are the bedroom, bathroom hallways and corridors, lighting and out-of-doors. Footwear and wheelchair safety are also discussed.

In this episode, Dr. Melissa Batchelor talks about Age-Friendly Health Systems with her special guest, Dr. Terry Fulmer, the President of the John A. Hartford Foundation. They discuss age-friendly health systems and how they are evolving with the constantly growing population of older adults.

How CAB Began

At Nexus Summit 2017, John Gilbert, Mattie Schmitt, Bud Baldwin, and Barbara Brandt were able to sit down for a few minutes and discuss the past, present and future of the field. In this video, at about the 05:15 mark, the discussion turns to the genesis of CAB.

These YouTube videos are organized into different categories that you can explore, including person-centered care; palliative care and hospice care; and several dementia-related topics. Each video is approximately 1 hour long. The videos are free to access after registering an account through Canvas.

These three short videos (under 20 minutes) from the Johns Hopkins Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program present activity ideas for caregivers of older adults. Presenters Maggie Rogers, Recreational Therapist, Certified Dementia Practitioner, and Rebecca Aclin, Therapeutic Recreation Specialis, both from John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, demonstrate and explain the activities with props.

They also discuss the various phases in the disease and when healthcare professionals step in to help caregivers through these various stages.
