GeriaCasts, from the Iowa Geriatric Education Center, are video presentations on a wide variety of frequently requested topics in geriatrics, valuable for all who provide care for older adults. These YouTube videos are organized into different categories that you can explore, including person-centered care; palliative care and hospice care; and several dementia-related topics. Each video is approximately 1 hour long. The videos are free to access after registering an account through Canvas.

These three short videos (under 20 minutes) from the Johns Hopkins Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program present activity ideas for caregivers of older adults. Presenters Maggie Rogers, Recreational Therapist, Certified Dementia Practitioner, and Rebecca Aclin, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, both from John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, demonstrate and explain the activities with props.

In this video (19:38 minutes), Drs. Max Zubatsky and Sue Tebb from St. Louis University discuss techniques to use when working with the caregiver of a person with dementia. They also discuss the various phases in the disease and when healthcare professionals step in to help caregivers through these various stages.

This video (10:02 minutes) by Dr. John Morley from the Gateway Geriatric Education Center at St. Louis University discusses the history of pandemics and how COVID-19 affects older adults. He describes side effects of the disease as well as how COVID-19 affects older adults with dementia.

This video (18:05 minutes) by Dr. John Morley from the Gateway Geriatric Education Center at St. Louis University provides an overview of COVID-19 as well as strategies for how older adults can cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. He also discusses the diagnosis process and how medicine has changed since the start of COVID-19.

This video (4:36 minutes) created by the Gateway Geriatric Education Center at St. Louis University showcases meaningful activities that can be done in a nursing home setting to improve the quality of life and combat loneliness in residents.
