NCQA White Paper: Advancing Best Practices for Goal Attainment Scaling
Submitted by Minnesota North... on Feb 20, 2025 - 3:35pm CST
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has published a white paper related to goal-aligned care. The paper discusses how goal attainment scaling, a method organizations can use to document, monitor, and help people make progress on personalized goals extensively used in research, can be considered in quality measurement. NCQA convened multidisciplinary experts to review the current landscape of goal attainment scaling, discuss implementation methodologies and gain a better understanding of best practices implementing the method with diverse audiences. The learnings from these convenings contributed to the white paper, Advancing Best Practices for Goal Attainment Scaling, and an online training module, Using Goal Attainment Scaling, focused on best practices for implementing goal attainment scaling. Goal attainment scaling is part of NCQA's person-centered outcome (PCO) measures, which is co-supported by JAHF.
