National Center Article Published in Academic Medicine

The National Center works with 47 sites on 58 projects to implement interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) across the nation. The National Center team is committed to supporting affiliated projects to collect the data, information, and evidence needed to support interprofessional practice and education (IPE). To do so, National Center research and data collection are peer-reviewed and published to support Nexus Innovation Network to hold conversations in their own settings.

New Models of Care Demand New Models of Learning

The National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education is proud to announce that we are now an approved provider of Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education™. Joint Accreditation establishes the standards for education providers to deliver continuing education planned “by the team for the team.” The Joint Accreditation program was launched in 2009 by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

For me, the concept of the “Nexus” is growing deeper every day. While we coined the term in the National Center to mean partnerships between interprofessional education and transforming U.S. healthcare, it is not lost on me that we are becoming the nexus in connecting many people and organizations -- with thousands of individuals from more than 1,300 organizations contacting us in the last two years.

September marked the launch of our new site, redesigned to reflect our new visual identify and brand direction.
