Based upon the calls and emails we are receiving in the National Center, the uncertainty about the direction of health care in the United States is now a source of significant confusion and anxiety.  Right now, that direction seems to be changing day by day, and even hour by hour.  What does this mean for all of us?  I’d say it’s time to look at life from both sides now.

Minneapolis -- The National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education announced that the University of New England (UNE) has joined its Nexus Innovation Network, a national research partnership testing new approaches to health care delivery and health professions education.

This past October, National Center team members Frank Cerra, MD, Amy Jarabek, MSA, MAEd and Teresa Schicker, MPA, visited Creighton University, a Nexus Innovation Network site. Creighton University’s Nexus project, titled “The IPE Passport: Meeting IPE at Creighton University”.

We are honored to recognize the Honorable Mention winners of the first-ever Nexus Award. We celebrated with each organization at our 2016 conference, Learning Together at the Nexus: National Center Summit on the Future of IPE.

In recognition of exemplary interprofessional, team-based practice in the US, the Nexus Award celebrates those who are thinking and acting differently through innovation to connect higher education and health care.

The National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education is pleased to announce that the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), through its recently established Center for Interprofessional Education and Simulation (CIPES) has joined the Nexus Innovation Network, a national research partnership testing new approaches to health care delivery and health professions education. CIPES director, Robert Rich, MD, remarks “UAB and CIPES are pleased to become members of the Nexus Innovation Network.
