This guide provides an evidence-based approach to help clinicians in screening and assessing functional abilities for driving, and provides guidance on clinical interventions, driver rehabilitations, how to advise the older adult about transitioning away from driving. It also discusses ethical and legal issues, state licensing and reporting laws, and provides appendices that provide clinician, patient, and caregiver resources, including assessment tools. Self-assessment questions and an online self-assement module is available for CME and/or ABIM MOC credit.

Many manufacturers claim that activated charcoal is a natural product that can be used to whiten and brighten teeth. Although social media and the beauty industry may have you believe charcoal to be a safe oral care product, there is insufficient evidence that using charcoal toothpastes and powders provide any significant tooth whitening or mouth health benefits. Further, there are more potential oral health risks to using charcoal that are supported by evidence-based research in this area.

The National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE) released the complete proceedings of its 2017 national symposium on enhancing the interprofessional clinical learning environment (IP-CLE). The proceedings, developed by an NCICLE work group representing a diverse set of symposium participants, serve as a catalyst to stimulate new ideas and approaches to viewing the clinical learning environment as a shared responsibility.

On July 29, 2018, 61 interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) professionals, representing 38 organizations, participated in the fourth annual Joint Accreditation Leadership Summit. The Summit was convened by the three accreditors that cofounded Joint Accreditation: the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

The SIF Project has been funded to lead and develop a whole of system approach to Australian IPE as a way of contributing to the delivery of high quality, patient responsive and sustainable health services. The project team is working in close partnership with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that every student who graduates from an Australian university with a health profession qualification at entry level has achieved the core capabilities required for successful interprofessional and collaborative practice and continuing interprofessional learning across their professional lives.
