A partnership between the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, the National Collaborative on Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE), and SmithGroup, the 2019 Clincial Learning Environment Innovation Challenge was a dynamic, team-based, design thinking experience at the Nexus Summit 2019.

SmithGroup designed this summary document to succinctly communicate an overview of NCICLE's work on the interprofessional clinical learning environment, an introduction to the theory and use of design thinking to rapidly prototype solutions to complex problems, and a summary of the CLE Innovation Challenge at the Nexus Summit 2019. 

The CLE Innovation Challenge will return in a virtual format in conjunction with the Nexus Summit 2020.
