Report

The report describes the implementation and evaluation of VA’s dissemination of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hand in Hand Dementia Training Program in VHA Community Living Centers (CLCs, formerly known as VA Nursing Home Care Units). In addition to process evaluation results, the report includes two new products that were created by the workgroup for this project: (1) A staff satisfaction with learning survey, addressing specific objectives and added competency questions for each module, and (2) Knowledge test questions with multiple-choice questions on each module, to evaluate employee response at Levels 1 and 2 of the Kirkpatrick educational evaluation model respectively. The training satisfaction survey and knowledge tests may be useful to others in future implementation of this training program.
