This learning module addresses the characteristics of medications that are high-risk and how to mitigate those risks for older adult patients. By the end of this modules, learners should be able to: (1) review the characteristics of a 'high-risk' medication; (2) list medication groups considered high-risk for the older adult; (3) apply age-friendly framework to patient-centered prescribing and deprescribing; and (4) review the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) measure for high-risk medication in the elderly. This learning module includes a pre-test, reading content, post-test, Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA) Demographic information, and activity evaluation. Registration is required by the creators to access the material but there is no charge. This module expires on December 01, 2023.
