As we are emerging out of the Pandemic, we have a unique opportunity to leverage on the lessons learned from the pandemic in fostering the healthcare transformation through innovation and IPECP.

Advance Care Planning (ACP) has long been a staple of caring for people with serious illness. To better understand the challenges and opportunities for ACP, acknowledge and highlight divergent viewpoints, and examine what is empirically known and not known about ACP and its outcomes, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's Roundtable on Quality Care for People with Serious Illness hosted a virtual public workshop. The workshop explored the paradox of ACP, its evidence base, ways to think differently about ACP, and various approaches to making it more effective.

To create clarity around use and safety of cannibidiol (CBD) for medical purposes in older adults, The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) convened a panel of experts in various relevant disciplines (pharmacy, clinical medicine and research, law and policy) and stakeholders in both the patient and professional arenas. This white paper summarizes presentations on pertinent topics and ideas for consideration developed by stakeholders.

Perceptions of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice and the Correlation with Patient and Family Satisfaction Scores Effective interprofessional collaboration is viewed as an essential component for the delivery of quality patient care in increasingly complex clinical environments. Various groups of professionals may have worked as a team on a project, however are perceptions of interprofessional clinicians viewed as collaborative?

Compassion is essential for effective collaboration among healthcare professionals, patients and families. Conventional wisdom and evidence support the importance of compassionate healthcare. So why then are the concepts and skills related to empathy and compassion not routinely taught, modeled and assessed across the continuum of learning and practice?
