I am the Program Manager for a statewide interprofessional education initiative, called Education to Practice. This initiative is a product of the Alliance for Clinical Experience at the Michigan Health Council, and has the full support of the Michigan Department of Community Health. The Michigan Health Council is a 501(c)3 organization devoted to addressing healthcare workforce issues throughout the state. Key features of this initiative include
- Michigan's interprofessional Incubator--highlighting key examples of collaborative learning and care throughout the state
- The Education to Practice Tool Kit--a publicly-available resource for educators, health professionals, administrators, and teamwork facilitators who wish to integrate interprofessional care competencies into their respective settings
- The 2012 and 2013 Northern Michigan Interprofessional Education Conferences
This initiative launched in 2012, and features the participation and engagement of dozens of clinical, education, advocacy, government, and nonprofit stakeholders throughout Michigan.
