The Train-the-Trainer Interprofessional Team Development Program is an immersive, longitudinal training program that supports teams in designing and implementing health care-related projects at their respective institutions.

What is the T3 Program? 

The T3 Program is an immersive leadership training program for teams wanting to learn how to design and implement effective interprofessional education and collaborative practice projects at their respective institutions. The T3 Program is led by health care leaders from national institutions who are trained in and passionate about collaborative, team-based health care, professional development, and assessment and evaluation. Teams of 3 or more members are invited to participate and each team member will develop professional leadership skills and strengthen team dynamics to increase project success. The program includes pre-work, asynchronous and synchronous learning, and post-training consultations. T3 is currently delivered by the University of Texas at Austin.

Q: Is T3 offered virtually or in person?

A: Since 2016, T3 has been an immersive, 3.5 day, live program. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent social distancing measures, T3 is currently being offered online. Faculty leaders at these sites have transitioned their T3 formats so they may continue to offer high-quality, innovative, and experiential training to teams.

Q: What all is included in the price per person?

A: The price per person includes pre-work, multi-day training program, continuing education credits, online access to T3 resources after the training, up to 1 year of subsequent consultations, and networking opportunities with T3 alumni online and in-person at IPE conferences. Offerings may vary based on site, so please check with the T3 coordinator at the site you are interested in to confirm.

Q: Do I need to attend the entire program?

A: Yes, by registering for the T3 Program all team members are committing to attend the entire program.

Q: Who should attend the T3 Program?

A: The T3 Program is recommended to faculty, educators, clinicians or administrators interested in team-based training to increase team effectiveness, leadership development, interprofessional education and collaborative practice projects, leading change within a healthcare institution, and train-the-trainer tools to train other faculty at their home institutions.

Q: Can I attend the program alone?

A: No, single learners are not allowed. Teams must be comprised of at least three people, two of whom need to be from different professions.

Q: Are observers allowed to attend?

A: Unfortunately, no observers are allowed to attend the T3 Program since the format of the program is very immersive and interactive.

  • Utilize methods and approaches to evaluate and assess the effectiveness of IPE across the learning continuum.
  • Develop emerging IPE and collaborative practice leaders to champion cultural changes within educational and health systems.
