Dr. Hartmann is a professor of occupational therapy at Quinnipiac University and the Director of the Center for Interprofessional Healthcare Education.  Kim has her bachelor degree in occupational therapy and a masters of health science education from Quinnipiac.  Her doctoral degree is from the University of Connecticut with dual concentrations in disability advocacy and assistive technology. 

Curriculum design and research have focused on empowerment of people with disabilities through advocacy, independent living with assistive technology and interprofessional education and practice.  She has published in all three areas and has facilitated many national presentations.
