Dr. Kreisberg has been transforming health for individuals and for society for close to 30 years. He recognizes healing potential in everyday actions and usesthis energy to bring back wholeness and resilience. By listening carefully to the body, to feelings, and to nature, greater joy, passion, and fulfillment are available for everyone. His work is based on 28 years as an integrative physician, 20 years of innovative program development in healthcare and several years as an Integral Master Coach™.
With an emphasis on innovation Dr.Kreisberg spent the last eight years creating public policy to reduce pharmaceuticals from entering the environment through research, education and advocacy. He published two studies, the Bay Area Medication Disposal Study of 2009, and Managing Unused Pharmaceuticals in a Hospice Setting in 2011, which proved to be instrumental in the passage of the Alameda County Safe Medication Disposal Ordinance, which he co-authored, the first of its kind product stewardship policy for pharmaceuticals in the US. The GreenPharmEdu.org educational portal, in partnership with Abbott Laboratories and Touro University Nevada, offered a comprehensive platform for educating physicians, nurses and pharmacist in reducing medications from entering the environment. Several thousand professionals have completed this course.
As founder and Executive Director of the Teleosis Institute, www.teleosis.org, he developed exceptional programs devoted to sustainability in healthcare in a variety of settings including primary care clinics, continuing medical education for physicians, nurses, and pharmacist, leadership development for health professionals, and health policy initiatives. Dr. Kreisberg’s skills in leadership development and curriculum design grew over the five years he operated the Leadership in Green Healthcare program which challenged health professionals to collaborate effectively, use right actions skillfully, while creating influential socially responsible clinical strategies. Several hundred clinical and executive health professionals completed this program between 2006 and 2011.
Bringing sustainable solutions to primary care clinics, Dr. Kreisberg created and operated the Green Healthcare Program emphasized reducing the environmental impact of healthcare services, expanding public health programs through integrating local economic, environmental and public health initiatives and developing long term strategies for delivering clinical services more sustainably. This program was operated in partnership with the Community Clinics Initiative (CCI) providing sector wide resources throughout California.
