Dr. Hossein Khalili, BScN, MScN, PhD, FNAP is an internationally recognized scholar, expert, and visionary leader in the field of interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) and healthcare resilience and transformation. He serves as the Director of the University of Wisconsin Centre of Interprofessional Practice and Education, the President of InterprofessionalResearch.Global (IPR.Global), an Adjunct Research Professor at Western University, a Board Member of CIHC, a Member of AIHC Program Committee and Innovation Taskforce, and a Member of the Public Policy and Partnerships & Networking Committees of the National Academies of Practice (NAP). Dr. Khalili also serves in the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Interprofessional care and HIE&P Journal.

Dr. Khalili’s IPECP work is not only grounded in research, but he has also demonstrated his expertise in IPE scholarship. The focus of Dr. Khalili’s research program is on interprofessional education and socialization, team-based care, patient engagement and partnership, interprofessional simulation and interprofessional healthy aging. His original Interprofessional Socialization Framework (IPSF) and Dual Identity works have widely been used in the US and across the globe. Dr. Khalili has also (co)developed and standardized a number of IPECP assessment tools including Dual Identity Scale (DIS), Assessment of Interprofessional Team Collaboration Scale (AITCS), and the Interprofessional Socialization and Valuing Scales (ISVS, ISVS-A & ISVS-B). He has also conducted (as PI & Co-I) over 25 research projects with over $7 million in funding (from which more than 10 projects involved multi-organizational, community, and patient partnerships); authored about 100 journal papers and publications; and presented 140+ abstracts and keynote speeches.

His excellence work in integrating research, teaching, and leadership in IPE has been well recognized by the scientific community as evidenced by receiving numerous prestigious awards, included but not limited to, Distinguished Scholar and Fellow of the UK Royal Society of Medicine (2022) and the National Academies of Practice (2020), Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Nomination for Outstanding Achievement ACE Award (2015); FHS Nomination for Fanshawe President’s Distinguished Achievement Award for Research/Innovation (2013); Western FHS Recognition of Excellence Awards (2010 and 2016); Western Teaching Honour Roll Awards (2010 and 2015); the Provincial Nurse Educators Interest Group Award from Registered Nurses' Foundation of Ontario (2010); Recognition of Excellence in Research award (2010); and Dean’s Award for Research Excellence – 2nd Place (2008).
