Mental Health Counseling and Physical Health Collaboration for Transgender Individuals

1. Participants will be able to identify the three primary mental health needs of TGNCNB patients.


2. Participants will be able to define the medical procedures requiring mental health assessments/letters, including transition criteria.


3. Participants will be able to map the recommended framework for assessments before and after gender-affirming surgery, including implementation considerations such as Trauma Informed Care.

This resource is an interactive 3-hour didactic and skills practice workshop designed to train faculty to conduct a peer-teaching observation and provide feedback focused on interprofessional teaching. The didactic portion of the workshop focuses on the ways that interprofessional teaching differs from uniprofessional teaching, discusses elements of effective feedback, and reviews the critical steps of a peer-teaching observation.
