This interprofessional training program on Opioid Use in Long-Term Care Series from the Utah Geriatric Education Consortium is for students, health care providers, and long-term care staff. The training program consists of eight modules that discuss opioid use in long-term care, the pharmacology of opioid use in older adults with multiple chronic conditions including dementia, appropriate prescribing of opioids in nursing home residents, opioid issues in nursing home residents including assessment and treatment, non-opioid pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain management regimens, and motivational interviewing. Each module takes 20 minutes to complete. Modules include lecture videos, case studies, resources,.and assessment and confidence questions.
