In fall 2014, the  Arnold P. Gold Foundation and the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare, in collaboration with the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation and Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence at the University of Chicago, sponsored the conference, “Advancing Compassionate, Person- and Family-Centered Care Through Interprofessional Education for Collaborative Practice,” in which experts -- including patients and family members, clinicians and health professions educators -- met to identify ways to advance the role of compassion and collaboration in health care and health professions education. Many recommendations for fostering compassion in health professionals stem from this conference and center on the belief that the Triple Aim cannot be achieved without the Triple C (compassionate, collaborative care).

This guide, developed by the National Center, lists and links to resources that can help organizations develop and enhance compassion among health professionals.
