Meeting the Nation's Primary Care Needs
Submitted by Academic Consor... on Mar 12, 2015 - 3:22pm CDT
This project, engaged with Michael Goldstein, PhD, of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, examines the current and prospective roles of doctors of chiropractic, naturopathic physicians, doctors and practitioners of acupuncture and Oriental medicine and direct-entry midwives in meeting nation's primary care needs.
To ensure that the document reflected the perspective of the profession, rather than that of one or more individual authors, ACCAHC partnered with four of its member organizations to choose author teams. These are the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges, Association of Chiropractic Colleges, Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicineand the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council.
Each organization named teams from their own discipline to represent their profession in the project's development and the work of researching and writing their discipline's section. These partner organizations subsequently endorsed the content related to their disciplines. This paper was published in December 2013.
