The theme (and title) of the Spring 2014 issue of the Journal of the National AHEC Organization was: "AHECs Successfully Adapting to Meet the Nation’s Healthcare Needs Through Interprofessional Education."

The lead editorial states, "Achieving and sustaining a successful IPE program is very hard work and can be costly! One of us is involved in creating an IPEprogram as of this writing and can attest that there are myriad challenges involved with this effort—ranging from scheduling difficulties to varying educational philosophies to differing professional vocabularies—among many more issues. While we cannot do much to help the reader alleviate the cost aspects of such an effort, we think that this issue of the Journal of the National AHEC Organization can be of great help in making the introduction of IPE somewhat easier for you by providing success stories."
