This resource is a team-based learning module created so that students will be able to analyze, deconstruct, discuss, and formulate a care plan for a standardized patient/client case as part of a multidisciplinary team using the Interprofessional Team Reasoning Framework. The Interprofessional Team Reasoning Framework is an algorithm developed to facilitate teaching and learning case studies with health professions students and is based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) (World Health Organization 2001). The ICF model was chosen because it can be applied across the continuum of care in different settings and has been standardized. The framework was developed by an expert panel of faculty with an interest in interprofessional education. The module includes the Interprofessional Team Reasoning Framework, sample cases, instructor's guide, learning objectives and questions, videotaped examples of poor and stellar team interactions, and a grading rubric.
