NIHAN’s Geriatric Seminar Series provides free health care education and resources to the geriatric community, by presenting topics related to the 4M’s, an age-friendly health care framework—What Matters, Medication, Mobility, and Mentation. The goal of the 15-session NIHAN Geriatric Series is to foster healthy aging for old adults, in order to create a more healthy and age-friendly geriatric community in Nevada.

Several problems can affect the health of your mouth, but good care should keep your teeth and gums strong as you age. Dental and Oral Care connects to the body's access to nutrition which is a foundation for good health. This one hour virtual seminar session focuses on expanding patient and caregivers' knowledge for optimizing oral care to support overall health.

Participants can learn the following:
What to look for in complete Oral Assessments for Older Adult Patients
Most common oral health problems and signs of Oral Cancer.
How common medications affect the mouth
Preventative Care that patients and caregivers can incorporate
