This reference guide is part of the Better Care for People with Complex Needs Playbook. This reference guide summarizes a set of curated resources to help key stakeholders — including health plans, providers, policymakers, and community-based organizations — better understand both the needs of the dually eligible population and emerging evidence and practical approaches for advancing Medicare-Medicaid integration. The guide is based on a comprehensive literature search conducted in September 2020 by the Center for Health Care Strategies, and the resources are organized under topics related to improving integrated care models, including characteristics and needs of this population, evidence on integrated care programs, technical assistance tools for health plans, providers, and states, and policy considerations.
