This curriculum from the Iowa Geriatric Education Center was developed for Internal Medicine residents working on the inpatient Geriatric Consult Service at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as part of their geriatric rotation. The modules in this course will be useful to all physicians, residents, and students who provide or who will provide primary care to older adults. Each module contains didactic information about the associated topic, and may contain one or more interactive case studies, links to GeriaSims patient care simulations, links to video presentations, or links to printable clinical tools. Topics include normal and usual aging, adverse drug events and polypharmacy, deliriuim, undernutrition, falls, functional bowel disorders, behavior distrubance interventions, and ambulatory devices. A 58-question multiple choice self-assessment test is available. The course is free to access after registering an account through Canvas.
