This presentation (1:22:02) is given by Dr. Elizabeth Vig from the Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine,University of Washington School of Medicine and Veterans Administration's Hospital where she chairs the VA Ethics Consultation Service. She describes a systemic approach to thinking about ethical dilemmas. She discusses how to approach cases involving individuals with cognitive impairment. Finally, Dr. Vig ends her presentation by reflecting on how our own beliefs and values may be influencing how we respond to certain cases.
