By the end of this lecture, learners should be able to: (1) discuss the definition of vulnerable adult and the role of Adult Protective Services; (2) identify the type of abuse, neglect, and exploitation and the prevalence; (3) identify risk factors and abuser profiles; (4) discuss professional responsibility of mandated reporters and how to report; and (5) explain interventions available for older adults experiencing abuse, neglect or exploitation.
