This presentation (1:02:55 minutes) given by Seth M. Keller discusses the challenge of assessing a decline in function and making an accurate and appropriate diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. By the end of this presentation, learners should be able to: (1) describe the possible reasons why decline may occur in someone aging with an IDD; (2) describe what tools may be helpful in determining if dementia is occurring; and (3) explain how a family member/caregiver is helpful in providing input to a healthcare provider with dementia. A case study and discussion are included in the presentation. Registration is required by the creators in order to access the material but there is no charge. (Presentation starts at 14:39 minutes.)
