Robert Rice, Ph.D., LMHC, is the current Director of Clinical Internships and Associate Professor of MHC at St John Fisher College and the Wegmans School of Nursing. Dr. Rice has experience as an educator, administrator, and expert clinical leader as a mental health counselor. Experience includes teaching at graduate and post-graduate levels, experience with facilitating inter-professional education, student coaching and mentoring, as well as prior grant experience.  Dr. Rice possesses knowledge in a broad array of areas related to health care, evidence-based practices, practice improvement and change. For example, Dr. Rice teaches in the graduate program on topics that include the assessment and treatment of child and adolescent disorders, mental health counseling as a profession, and family and partner counseling. He also integrates inter-professional education with the addition of guest lecturers to increase student experiences with outside organizations representing underserved children and adolescents in particular. Throughout his 20-year career, Dr. Rice has extensive experience as a practicing clinician, educator and administrator. He was the director of a large clinic providing mental health services to people with mental illness and developmental disabilities in the Rochester, NY area, and has led and participated in several multi-institutional projects related to the research and development of interactive games and media to treat mental illness in children and adolescents with anxiety and related disorders.
