Helping people has always been a passion of mine, even when I was a little girl. I was able to realize that dream nearly eight years ago when I became a nurse. Since that time I have worked as an emergency room nurse. Much of my time has been dedicated to continuing education and then later working towards the pursuit of a doctorate degree in nursing practice (DNP). Currently, I attend the University of Minnesota as a DNP student in the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty, as well as the Health Innovation and Leadership specialty. Throughout these programs I have had a special interest in interprofessional collaboration and education. My DNP project focuses on implementing TeamSTEPPS in primary care settings, thereby tranforming the culture of health care into a partnership model where collaboration between disciplines thrives.
