I have been professionally involved in HIV infection with and for people with AIDS since 1987, I was the 1st executive director of a local AIDS Service Organization in Madison, WI. In 1990 I got trained and became the 1st instructor trainer for HIV/AIDS education and also became the program manager for the local chapter of the American Red Cross Health and Safety, a position i held for over 12 years. In 2003 I accepted the position of the site director of the Midwest AIDS Training & Education Center in the School of Medicine and Public Health at UW-Madison. For over 25 years MATEC has provided training & education to doctors, nurses, dentists and pharmacist to those who provide care and treatment to patients with HIV and AIDS. Since 1987, informally, I have integrated AIDS education into numerous interprofessional educational settings locally and look forward to implementing IPE into MATEC's regional project.
