Elizabeth Harrell DNP, PMHNP-BC. “Liz” is the Program Director for the Student Health Outreach for Wellness (SHOW) Community Initiative, SHOW Advisory Committee Chair, SHOW preceptor and student and faculty advisor. Liz Harrell has over 20 years of psychiatric clinical care experience including 8 years as a child psychiatric nurse and currently is a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Additionally, Liz has been a professor at ASU for 10 years and is faculty at ASU College of Nursing and Health and Innovation for the Doctor of Nursing program. Liz has a passion for program development and is a leader in Arizona’s first tri-university collaborative project run by students and guided by faculty; The SHOW Community Initiative. Liz collaborates with multiple community partners utilizing the existing Health Care for the Homeless clinic operated by Maricopa County Public Health Department to provide free integrated primary care, health prevention, and promotion services during on weekends using an interprofessional care delivery model. Through this interprofessional community project students, faculty, and community providers share responsibility for achieving health outcomes and improving education while reducing cost and adding value in health care delivery and education. Under Liz’s leadership, SHOW has become a recognized leader in interprofessional practice and learning.
