Lissa is a Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Longwood University, where she teaches courses in ethics and professional issues, aural rehabilitation and speech sound disorders and supervises students in their clinicals.  She received her Ph.D. in speech-language pathology, with minors in audiology and deaf education from the University of Virginia.  She is a former President of the Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Virginia and current Vice President of Standards and Ethics in Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Virginia.
