Kyoko Yamada is an assistant professor of the Department of Nursing at Chiba University, Japan, where she has been since 2014. She is also a founder and the CEO of “The School ECHO Project”, a non-profit organization specializing in human resource development at schools and other educational organizations. She received a B.A. from Chiba University in 2006, and a M.Ed. from University of Minnesota in 2011. From 2006 to 2009, she worked at elementary schools and middle schools in Japan as a school nurse. After getting her M.Ed., she worked as an assistant professor of the Department of Education at Chiba University. In 2014, the university decided to create the IPE Research Center. Therefore, she moved to the Department of Nursing to launch the project.
