I joined the SPH Dean's office as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in 1998. My focus was on building the school's education program in scale, quality and diversity. By the time I became Dean in 2005, it was clear that all the health professions were finally beginning to seriously look at the future of education and training in ways that would break down "siloes" and address the problem of fragmented health systems and poor outcomes. Population and community approaches to health have finally emerged as part of the IPE equation. I couldn't be happier about that!
