Our Interest in Interprofessional Practice and Education:
More Americans are coping with chronic pain than ever before. Yet clinicians’ understanding of pain and skills managing pain vary widely because no such educational framework exists. The Interprofessional Pain Management Competency Program sought to address this issue through the identification of competencies in pain management for prelicensure clinical education that can serve as a framework in the development of comprehensive and effective pain care management curricula.
