James Colquitt, PhD, MEd, RRT-ACCS, serves as the Associate Dean for Clinical Simulation for the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine at The Chicago School (applicant status - seeking accreditation). Dr. Colquitt joined The Chicago School in January 2024 and is responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of simulation-based education for the proposed IllinoisCOM and the various Psychology programs at The Chicago School. In addition he is assisting with the simulation programs at the new residencies being developed in association with the proposed IllinoisCOM.

Dr. Colquitt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Care at Georgia State University. He completed a Master of Education in Instructional Technology at Georgia College and State University and a PhD in Workforce Education with a minor in Adult Education at the University of Georgia. With over 25 years of experience as a respiratory therapist and educator, Dr. Colquitt holds numerous clinical and academic certifications and instructor credentials. He also serves as a Senior Eduactor and member of the Senior Educator Advisory Board for the American College of Surgeons. His research focuses on mastery learning, game-based simulation, and interprofessional education in medical training.
