My research interest combinates from twenty-years in middle and upper nursing leadership positions in long term care. I am committed to understanding how older adults develop their pain and pain management perceptions, where such research is needed. Up until now, most studies have focused on nursing home staff or deficient pain management practices. Few studies have focused on the unique, first-person perspective of a nursing home resident, and how he or she evaluates pain management care.
