Doug Brock is a social psychologist with a background in quantitative research methods. He received his PhD from the University of Washington where he has been a faculty member since 1999. Much of Doug’s work has focused on the development of tools for the assessment and evaluation of interprofessional education (IPE). These tools include self-assessments, peer and expert assessments and the assessment of complex behavior using video taped student simulated team experience. His work also includes the development of web-based case study simulations and simulation authoring tools. His research activities have included multiple UW and externally funded web based development and evaluation efforts. Across the past decade, he has collaborated with many interdisciplinary groups, including colleagues from dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistant training and social work. Much of this work has been funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Josiah Macy Foundation to study the use of interprofessional team simulationto train healthcare teams.
