Cristin Checchia, PhD, CCC-SLP is a graduate of Fielding Graduate University’s, School of Leadership Studies, Infant and Early Childhood Development with an Emphasis in Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities program where she is an Institute for Social Innovation Fielding Fellow. She has almost twenty years’ experience as a speech-language pathologist working with children, families and adults with a special interest in the area of feeding and swallowing. Dr. Checchia has been an adjunct professor and clinical instructor teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses. She has also worked as a research and teaching assistant with a focus on the needs of the whole child. Most recently she has focused her research and practice on reflective practice/supervision and relationship-based interprofessional practice with families whose children experience complex feeding and swallowing disorders. Her aim is to bring interprofessional team-based practice into the public to represent underserved children and families with feeding and swallowing needs.
