Dr. Anderson is the Founding Director of the Institute for Health and Wellness at Monmouth University, a Clinical Associate Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, serves on the council of the NIH National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, and is a Research Professor at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She earned her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Sydney (Australia), her Masters in Higher Education from Teachers College Columbia University, and her Masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Dr. Anderson’s research has been funded by the NIH and the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and include an acupuncture clinical trial involving underserved chronic pain patients, and an education research project training clinicians in evidence-based medicine. She is a licensed acupuncturist and Certified Chinese herbalist, and maintained a private practice at New York University Fertility Center for 10 years until 2018. She is an internationally recognized expert in the use of acupuncture for improving in-vitro fertilization outcomes having published numerous articles including the first systematic review. Dr. Anderson is co-chair of the Research Working Group of the Academic Collaborative for Integrative Health, and a leader in optimizing health and wellness by integrating different medical disciplines. Her extensive education, training and experience includes NIH-funded education research, and the development of interdisciplinary education programs across different medical disciplines and institutions. Dr. Anderson’s research achievements span both basic and clinical science, and have resulted in 32 publications in peer reviewed journals, and editorial advisory for numerous integrative medicine journals.
