Anita is a seasoned leader and consultant with over 40 years administrative, research and education experience. She began her career in medical education, building innovative curricula and strategies to prepare future workforce for integrated practice and health care transformation.
With a wide and varied background that includes roles as Associate Dean, Section Head and Program Director at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Anita was also President/CEO of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Health Foundation. In that role she led efforts to create a comprehensive database on certified PA practice, which now informs national health policy and workforce planning. Anita has proved instrumental in creating national and global strategic partnerships, most recently working with Walter Sisulu University in South Africa to create a new midlevel health profession to increase workforce capacity. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and many federal and privately funded grants.
