Alicia Ramirez, Ph.D., RN, CNS, CCRN-K, has been an adjunct faculty member at Texas Woman's University (TWU) in Houston since 2011. In Fall 2024, I assumed the position of assistant professor at TWU-Houston in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. I have taught fundamentals and integration didactics. Additionally, I have served as a clinical and lab instructor, precepting senior II students to facilitate their capstone completion. In the Spring of 2025, I became the clinical placement advisor for the BSN program. This role has allowed me to collaborate with all course managers and students at all levels in the BSN nursing program, fostering unity among all faculty teaching in the BSN program on the TWU-Houston campus. As clinical course manager for the integration and foundation courses, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with the Dallas BSN campus faculty to improve the use of the Clinical Evaluation Tool (CET) and serve as a resource for the Houston faculty regarding the CET. My fundamental research interests include advancing front-line nursing care through participation in interprofessional education (IPE), implementing evidence-based research to address failure-to-rescue initiatives, and mentoring students, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide individualized nursing care.
