Dr. Judith Haber is currently The Ursula Springer Leadership Professor in Nursing and Associate Dean for Graduate Programs in the College of Nursing where she is the academic leader for 12 Master’s Programs, including five Nurse Practitioner Programs, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program. She is also the leader of two NYUCN nurse managed centers, both nurse practitioner managed primary care practices, one is an innovative primary care practice located at the College of Dentistry the aim of which is to increase access to seamless oral and systemic primary care for underserved populations. The other is a unique urban school-based health initiative featuring a mobile health van, Feeling Good in Your Neighborhood, that provides primary care services and health literacy programming to recent immigrant and underserved adolescents in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Haber has played a leadership role in promoting an interprofessional oral health agenda at NYUCN and NYUCD. She is the Executive Director of a national nursing oral health initiative, The Oral Health Nursing Education and Practice (OHNEP) program funded by the DentaQuest, Washington State Dental, and Connecticut Health Foundations. She is also the Principal Investigator of a HRSA funded grant Teaching Oral Systemic Health (TOSH) designed to develop interprofessional oral health competencies in primary care providers through implementation of a virtual classroom that brings nurse practitioner, dental, and medical students together for interprofessional clinical experiences. Dr. Haber is a member of the Steering Committee of the National Interprofessional Initiative on Oral Health (NIIOH) and is a member of the HRSA Expert Panel developing Core Interprofessional Oral Health Competencies for Primary Care Providers. Dr. Haber has presented and published widely on oral health issues.
